Stand-in skipper for Australia in the second T20I, Matthew Wade, was heard sharing a light moment with Indian batsman Shikhar Dhawan after the former missed a quick stumping chance of the latter.
Wade, appealed for a stumping chance after Dhawan lifted his back-leg for a couple of seconds. However, he was late in dislodging the bails as when he disturbed the stumps, Dhawan had grounded his foot.
After the replays and the confirmed decision, Wade was heard on the stump-mic saying, “Not Dhoni, not quick enough like Dhoni.”
Wade obviously referred to the fast hands of former Indian wicket-keeper batsman MS Dhoni, who is famous for his quick stumpings and work behind the wickets.
After the moment, both Dhawan and Wade shared chuckles as did the commentators.
